BE IT KNOWN that ''John Forrest of Grymsdyke Princes Risborough in the county of Buckingham'' 

died on the ''21st'' day of ''March 1910'' at ''29 Promenade Cheltenham in the county of Gloucester''

AND BE IT FURTHER KNOWN that at that date hereunder written the last Will and Testament ''with a codicil'' 

of the said deceased was proved and registered in the Principal Probate Registry of His Majesty's High Court of Justice, and that administration of all estate which by law devolves to and vests in the personal representative of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to ''George Francis Forrest of Grymsdyke aforesaid stockbroker a Member of the London Stock Exchange, Son of the deceased Reginald John Winterbotham of Essex Place Cheltenham aforesaid solicitor and Septimus Francis Beck of the Mount Great Missenden in the said county of Buckingham land agent, the executors''

THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me JOHN FORREST of Grymsdyke Princes Risborough in the County of Bucks J.P. whereof I appoint my son George Francis Forrest a Member of the London Stock Exchange and my friends Reginald John Winterbotham of Cheltenham Solicitor and Septimus Francis Beck of the Mount Great Missenden Bucks Land Agent EXECUTORS AND TRUSTEES with a legacy of two hundred and fifty pounds to each of them who shall so act I direct that the residence and establishment that I may be keeping up at the time of my decease shall be kept up by my executors at the expense of my estate for three calendar months after my decease I give my son the Reverend John Graham Forrest the portraits of his grand father and grand mother and the portrait of Charles Macintosh (a presentation from the Corporation of the City of Glasgow) And I desire that such pictures may be considered as heirlooms never to go out of the family I also give to my said son the said John Graham Forrest all such silver plate and plated goods as bear the Forrest Crest Arms or initials I give to my son Captain Charles Evelyn Forrest the copies of the portraits of Sir John and Sir Graham Moore together with the collections of medals and the portrait of General Alexander Fisher Macintosh with the expression of the same desire that all these things may be considered as heirlooms All other silver silver plate pictures watch and chain personal ornaments and apparel and such other chattels as my said executors and trustees may think fit to except from realization I give unto and equally between my three sons the said John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest and George Francis Forrest And I desire that such division may be affected without sale or realization and that if any difficulty or difference shall arise with respect to such division the decision of my executors and trustees with respect thereto shall be final and conclusive on all parties notwithstanding the beneficial interest which one of the executors has therein I give to my coachman George Timms my housemaid Martha Hammond and my cook and housekeeper Edith Ellen Dimmock the sum of fifty pounds each if he or she respectively shall be in my service at the time of my decease I direct all the hereinbefore mentioned

legacies to be paid and handed over free of duty All my moneys and securities for or investments of money I give and bequeth to my said executors and trustees Upon trust to get in the same and after payment thereout of my just debts funeral and testamentary expensive and the legacies and duties hereby directed to be paid to pay over transfer and divide the same unto and equally between my said three sons John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest and George Francis Forrest or such one or more of them as shall be living at the time of my decease All my real property at Grymsdyke and Speen Farm (and elsewhere if any) over which I have any absolute general power of disposing as I may think fit I give and devise to my said executors and trustees Upon trust at such time or times as they my said executors and trustees shall think best and most advantageous for my estate realisation (but not by any forced sale) to sell or dispose thereof in such way as they shall from time to time determine with full power to lay out any part of my said real estate for building or other purposes at the expense of my general residuary estate and to defer any sale or realisation of all or any part of my said real estate for any time that they my said executors and trustees shall think fit And to stand possessed of the proceeds of any and every sale or sales and of the rents and profits in the meantime arising from the said real estate Upon trust for my said three sons John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest and George Francis Forrest or such one or more of them as shall be living at the time of my decease I direct and declare that my said executors and trustees shall be at liberty to retain all or any part of my said personal or real estate in the state in which it shall happen to be at the time of my decease for so long as they shall think fit and advantageous And that any moneys requiring investment under this my will may be invested and reinvested from time to time not only within the area for the time being by law permitted to trustees but also on mortgage of any freehold or copyhold properties in England or Wales or on any Municipal Corporation Loan or in the debentures or preference shares or preference stock of my Company incorporated by Act of Parliament or Royal Charter or under the Joint Stock Companies Acts and having its registered Office in England or Wales And whereas under any marriage settlement dated the seventh day of August One thousand eight hundred and seventy three and under another Indenture of Settlement of the thirtieth day of December One thousand eight hundred and ninety two and under the Will of Charles Macintosh Rodger deceased I as the survivor of my late wife Eveline Forrest have certain powers of testamentary appointment amongst the fours sons on myself and the said Eveline Forrest deceased namely the said John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest George Francis Forrest and Guy Archibald Forrest all of whom have long since attained twenty one Now in exercise of the powers so as aforesaid vested in me I hereby appoint give and bequeath out of the funds subject to the trusts of the said

will the sum of two thousand pounds to my said son Guy Archibald Forrest if he shall be living at the time of my decease such sum to be raised and paid out of the personalty for the the time being subject to the trusts of the said Will of the said Charles Macintosh Rodger deceased And as to all the rest of the trust funds and property subject to the trusts of the said Indenture and will respectively I hereby appoint give bequeath and devise the same unto and equally between y said three other sons John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest and George Francis Forrest or such one or more of them shall be living at the time of my decease absolutely I direct that no trustee of this my will shall be liable for any involuntary loss to my trust estate and that any trustee who may be in any business or profession shall be entitled to make the same charges against my estate as he would have been entitled to had he not been personally a trustee And I especially direct that any question in which there may be any doubt or difference of opinion between my execturors and trustees shall be settled by the majority of votes of the executors and trustees for the time being acting in the trusts of this my will and that for the purpose of calculating such majority my son George Francis Forrest shall have two votes and the other executors and trustees one vote each And I further direct and declare that if either  of my said three sons John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest or George Francis Forrest shall refuse or decline to accept all or any oart he shall so refuse or decline to accept shall go and be divided equally between the other or others of my said three sons John Graham Forrest Charles Evelyn Forrest and George Francis Forrest And with respect to the share and interest if my said son John Graham Forrest in all the estate effects and properties over which I have only a limited power or appointment so far as the rules of law will permit (but not further or otherwise) I direct and declare that whilst and so long as my said son shall be under any restraint or treatment for mental disability such share or portion shal not be handed over paid or transferred to him but shall be retained by my said executors and trustees for him and the income thereof be paid or applied by them for his maintenance support and benefit from time to time as they shall be advised and think fit And I declared that the necessity for and period of such retention and application shall be absolutely decided by the majority of my said executors and trustees in manner aforesaid Lastly I hereby revoke all wills and testamentary documents at any time heretofore executed by me IN TESTIMONY whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this twentieth day of February One thousand nine hundred and nine -- -- J FORREST -- Signed by the testator as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us both present at the same time who at his request in his presence and in

THIS IS A CODICIL to the last will and testament of me JOHN FORREST of Grymsdyke Princes Risborough in the County of Bucks J P which will is dated the twentieth day of February One thousand nine hundred and nine I give to my coachman George Timms an annuity for his life at the rate of twenty five shillings a week duty free this legacy to be in addition to the legacy left him under my said will I give my housemaid Martha Hammond an annuity for her life at the rate of twelve shillings a week duty free this legacy to be in addition to the legacy left her under my said will I give my butler Edward Bryant if he shall be in my service at the time of my decease a legacy of one hundred and fifty pounts duty free in recognition of his kindness and attention to me IN all other respects I confirm my said will IN TESTIMONY whereof I have hereutno subscribed my name this eleventh day of January One Thousand nine hundred and ten -- J FORREST -- Signed by the said John Forrest as and for a codicil to his last will in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses -- JAS B WINTERBOTHAM Solicitor Cheltenham -- ROBERT KIRKLAND Bachelor of Medicine Cheltenham.

On the 6th day of May 1910 Probate of this Will and Codicil was granted to George Francis Forrest Reginald John Winterbotham and Septimus Francis Beck the Executors.
